Liturgical music and congregational participation are emphasized in Holy Redeemer services. Our 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. choirs enrich our Eucharistic celebrations on Sundays and high holy days. Both choirs welcome volunteers of all ages and are generally in session most of the year with a break for summer.
Holy Redeemer has a 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass Choir under the direction of the parish's Director of Music and Liturgy, Mr. Joseph Ryan who can be reached at 301-922-8215 or HRMusicJoe@gmail.com. This choir is separate from the one for the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. It also sings at other liturgical functions as needed throughout the church calendar year. New choir members are always welcome. Choir and congregational participation in singing at the services enhances the participation of all who attend and adds that special joy we experience as followers of Christ, worshiping as a community of believers.
The Holy Redeemer Choir serves the 11:30 Sunday Mass and other occasional liturgies throughout the year. We welcome new members to join in our fellowship and music-making. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. You need not be an experienced musician to participate. We rehearse each Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the choir loft of the Church and at 10:45 a.m., just prior to the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. The choir season generally runs from the first Sunday after Labor Day through the Feast of Corpus Christi in the Spring. Please contact Joe Ryan, at HRMusicJoe@gmail.com or 301-922-8215
